About Infertility
Do you know About Infertility?
Infertility is a condition where couples have trouble conceiving, and it can affect both men and women. In men, factors like low sperm count, poor sperm movement, or hormonal issues may reduce fertility. In women, infertility may be caused by ovulation problems, blocked tubes, hormonal imbalances, or age-related changes. Sometimes, lifestyle habits, stress, or other medical conditions also play a role. By understanding these challenges early and getting the right evaluation, couples can receive personalized care and choose the best treatment options for a healthy pregnancy journey.
Female Infertility
Female infertility is very common. According to more recent studies, more than 60% of women experienced primary infertility, meaning they had tried and failed to conceive. In a similar vein, over 68% of women who were infertile had been trying for more than five years, which is concerning since it shows that access to proper medical care has been delayed. Alarmingly, 82.8% of women did not attempt to get pregnant during the specific period of their menstrual cycle, and around 79.6% of them were unaware of their fertile period. These percentages generate an immediate need for education and awareness programs in reproductive health. Urbanisation, late marriage, obesity, unhealthy lifestyle choices and a host of untreated medical issues are some of the contributing reasons to the growing numbers.
